"Cute...." This word sucks .. "Cute" in any form sucks MAJOR ass. lemme give you a f'rinstance. I pass an email to a friend whose opinion I value, thinking she'll be dazed and dazzled by my witty banter and sarcastic charm , and place me high on her list of literary ( read: weblog) genius. What do i get? " cute" not " that's cool" or " good deal now I can keep up with you" , but a simple one line email , " Cute" . now people, I'm pouring my heart out to you.. giving you my admiteddly boring but highly opinionated view, logging on dillegently to check for comments, and this is the thanks I get? For all that I've given you? For all the heart and soul and sweat and tears I've poured into this less-than-a-month-old blog? Why dont you just rip my heart out, marinate it in pity, grill it over the hot coals of judgement and serve it with a side of disdain with a nice chianti? I THOUGHT YOU PEOPLE LOVED ME! GOD KNOWS THAT *I* DO! * sniff* So that's how it is? Is this how it's gonna be? well fine.. see if I cant handle it, I DONT NEED YOU! Ah, who am I kidding? LOL I guess cute isnt so bad. Anyway!

Sorry for the latest tantrum.. I was just bored on a thursday night, and hitman 2 is pissing me off.

Oh well back to being "Cute..." LOL

Oh i nearly forgot this week!

Dan's weekly cigar recommendation:

This week and for the weekend since the shitty weather has kept us all inside and it's been wet for entirely too long, I'm going to suggest a little something to liven up the mood. Something playful and fun. the ACID brand line of smokes. No seriously there is a cigar line called ACID. I swear, this isnt some post trip drug thing. go to the local cigar shop and try one. They smell like the inside of an old hippies van (incense and something a little forbidden) but they are great tasting and will freak people out when they smell em too.. take the band off and smoke em at parties while telling your frineds the shady white trash wanna be Eminem guy you know "hooked you up wit da good shit, yo" and make em believe you're having more fun than you really are.

aight I'm out gonna go play with the cats!

Interesting..
That's a good word. Interesting.. Since the GF has been out of town for a few days now and will not be returning for another 7 days or so, it's been kind of wild living like a single again. havent really done much with all this free time.. mostly watched TV, worked and slept.. anyone tells you that the life of a single guy is all non stop action is a liar, LOL . Seriously I started a new job.. back in IT , I have to say that the desk work sucks major ass, now I know why I was so relieved to get out of the last IT job, but the hands on part is very cool.. mostly fixing hardware and such, but it isnt at a desk and kind of fun, so It's all good. I can honestly say I miss the ATO stuff, but at the same time I'm making WAY more money so I shouldnt complain. Anyway , just had a few thoughts, It's hard to update this every day, since not a lot happenes each day, but I'm trying.. anyway I'll post later.

Hi folks!
had me a pretty good day today.. got paid, quit my job ( well served notice, but same thing) and had a decent exit interview , which I was sweating a bit but it's all good. I'm glad to be going but kind of regret it since this was by far the most interesting job I've ever had. oh well.. least I'll be making more money. Short update today, not a lot that I can tell you about my job due to security clearances and stuff, so I'll just have to end it now.

Web stuff:
http://www.funny.com name says it all

aight I'm gone daddy gone!

Howdy!

Coming back to work after a heck of a good time last night, Went to a 20.00 buy in texas hold 'em tournament and came in 6th out of 20 people. I'm pretty happy with that, even though I didnt win. Havent ever played hold'em before, so it was a blast. Big ups to my Boy Dave H for walking away the winnah! That 240.00 must be nice.... by the way you're paying for golf next week, LOL.

So anyway in regards to yesterday's post, yeah I'm mad, but we kind of worked it out. Although things are still F'd up with us.. We'll see how things fold out after she gets back from New York in a couple of weeks.

back to last night, the BEST time wasnt at the tournament but after I was out and got to sit at the "loser" table with Tony and Kevin. First I must say " you can buy in for only a dollar!" I again ended up losing but between the Dog making things um.. exciting , me being Kirsten's "Shuffle Bitch" And Kevin cracking jokes the entire time, it was one hell of a good time. By the way congrats Kirsten for buying in with a buck and walking away with 30.00. Good times had by all.

It was nice to get out I havent been out of the house for a night out with my friends in forever. (seriously like 3 or 4 months) and it was very cool.. I'm looking forward to starting my new job and getting a real schedule where i can do that more often.. this shift work shit really sucks where I am. that and the Fact that my GF will be gone for few weeks (more like 11 days) means I can smoke more cigars, and pretty much do what I like.. this is a good thing. Not that I want to be without her for 11 days, but it will be nice to have some "Dan" time and get centered again. Who knows, maybe this is what we need to patch up the issues we have..

Ok well that's it for today.. I have a country to defend and you have a life to get back to.. l8r!

    <lj:music>The Dead Milkmen - Punk Rock Girl</lj:music>

well well looks like it's gonna be another hot sumbitch of a day..

well Saturday AM , and I have a question to pose.. Should I be pissed if my Girlfriend of nearly five years goes out drinking all night and then dont come home?

Lemme set the scene.. 2:57 AM, i get a phone call.. " hey it's me.. I'm staying at XXXXX's because there is this huge DUI checkpoint that we drove through.. We're not drunk, but I dont wanna risk it. I'll be home later."

Me: ( awoken From a dead sleep) " grumble mumble whatever znork...."

Fast forward to 4:30 AM.. I get up for work at the usual Oh Dark thirty.. hey , I'm the only one here.. how odd..

I shower, throw on the old uniform, grab the gear bag and leave promptly at 0500 for work.. as I leave , I drive by the site of said DUI checkpoint.. no sign of anything.. no activity , nothing.

hmm.. Now.. having said all this, I mention that this is becoming a habit lately with her. a habit I dont really feel comfortable with. Not to mention a decline in other "areas" of our relationship. So I'm startin to wonder just exactly WTF..

(cell phone ringing.. 0751 AM)

Ah the "I'm on mt way home" call.. Too bad I'm not there. I answer and within 2 min I'm told I'm being "nasty" to her... But I'm not..I havent even started "nasty" yet.. I *am* however working and carrying close to 35 lbs of gear and ammunition on about 5 hours of sleep though.. So I can admit that I might have a bit of an edge this AM.. but "nasty"? Nahhhh.

So the question of the day is.. Do I start secret squirrel and find out What's going on or let it ride? I should point out that I have caught her lying to me before and " going out" with other guys thinking I wont find out. I'm seriously trying to give her the benefit of the doubt here, and I should mention that I really do love her no matter how much shit happens between us, we always end up working it out in one way or the other.

Anyway Here's todays recommendations:

Web:
check out http://www.miniclip.com kick ass web games.

Radio:
for you budding cigar smokers in the Tampa Bay area.. from 1200-200PM saturdays, 970 AM WFLA. Smoke This.. Two hours of cigar related bliss. Website is http://www.smokethis.com

TV:
Reno 911 on comedy central. Give it a watch .. If you love COPS or work in Law enforcement or the Security field.. you'll dig this show. a little over the top at times but some of this stuff is uncomfortably close to real life!

Cigar of the week..

Ok kids. moving on from the Macanudo Portofino, Lets try the Cuesta Rey #9 Pyramid. Wonderful smoke, the bigger Ring gauge means cooler smoke and lots more flavor. Available at your local tobacco shop. Also get a cutter.. If i see any of you buying these handmade cigars and biting the ends off, I may just have to Pillmanize you.. ( Obscure wrestling reference.. try and find THAT one.... HA!)

Man what a couple of days..

ya know what I did? NOTHING! That's right I said it.. NOTHING! I am beat tired from work. Glad I'm getting the hell out of there relatively soon. but enough whining. it isn't like that will help me get anywhere.

Man I 'm trying to get the creative juices flowing here, but it's not working... oh well allow me to share with you a great place you may enjoy ...

http://www.tuckermax.com This site is currently down for revamping, but is truly home to some of the funniest shit on the web. Check it out!

The always irreverent home star runner is another winner, but we all know that.. Check it out .. http://www.homestarrunner.com Strongbad is the shit....

I'm working on this new client that I downloaded instead of the HTML client.. hope this works , but I'm not sure if it will automatically link any of this stuff or not.

Oh and thanks for the props regarding the "That 70's Show" references.. truly one of TV's great shows.. kudos to YOU for being quick enough to pick up on it.

Ok not much meat here.. kind of still waking up. Let me get some coffee in me and we'll chat again later today maybe...

Oh couple of quick things,, I'm going to do the cigar reviews and recommendations weekly instead of daily.. since not everyone is trying to kill off their taste buds like I am .

and a special note to my boy MR H. Dude drop da bitch.. please.. all she is doing is screwing with you ..
Spiraling out of control like a fat kid juiced up on jolt cola who spent too much time on the gravitron, it's Me! Okay that wasnt so nice.... ah, fuck it. This here is my first journal entry in what I am sure will devolve into a severe dissection of my life, love and incredibly bad career choices! Yay me!

And now lets stop for a Public Service Announcement...
Life's hard, get a helmet!
Now on with the show!

Hey there! I'm Dan! I'm a feisty scorpio who likes long walks on the beach, romantic dinners and lots of fun! ......God that sounds so "People seeking people on yahoo! Personals".. Let's try again..

Hey kids and welcome to my "blog"! My name is Dan and I'll be your host on this tour of life, love, and adventure. Man, I love the word "blog"! It just rolls off the tounge.. blog blog blog.. What a great word. I'm grinning like Kelso after doin it with Eric's sister! Anyway, Like I was saying.. I'm Dan and hopefully I'll be able to get to know each and every one of you. Now let's get the usual shit out of the way..

Yes, I'm 32.. that makes me officially older than most of you college types.... Live with it.

No, I'm not single.. I have a girlfriend who I love, but who also drives me up a wall most of the time, but then again, I make her a little nuts too, so it's all good.

I am lord and master (yeah right) of two little furry carpet sharks, or cats who are full of personality, charm, and love, and who, when they are hungry, make the attack on sigfried and roy look like playtime at R'club. I mean they can downright bite the hell out of you if you dont feed them on time. Maybe Mary-Kate should take some lessons from them about scheduling your meals. (OOOOHHHHH! BURN!)

O'tay then Lets move on...

What do I like? Cigars, Cars, Football and Beer, not in any particular order. I like PS2, and relaxing.. a lot of relaxing.. hey I'm old, We do that.

My job, well that's classified.. no really, it is. I have no reason to lie to you people. Let's just say that I help keep people that like osama from doing nasty things to you. No, I'm not kidding.

Ok, enough of that. I really need to finish this up because it's getting long and quite frankly, I know some of you have the attention span of an earthworm. So needless to say let me introduce what I hope will be come a "blog" standard..

Dan's Cigar Recommendation!
Today, For you new types, I suggest something light and tasty (no not black and milds, and no not the philly blunt. You gotta understand, I gots culture.) I'm talking the Macanudo Portofino. Available at your local tobacco shop or most liquor stores, the portofino is an excellent starter cigar. This comes in a tube, to help preserve the taste and is lighter in taste than most cigars so as not to overwhelm a new smoker. Give it a try!

If you have any questions regarding cigars, feel free to ask me anytime.. I'll answer as best I can.

Ok kids, thats it for today.. keep your head up and eyes open, or else life will pass you by!
